How about a Hot Fudge Sundae?

This is not about my grandest granddaughter age 4+. She’s the cutie in the picture.

This is what my dear husband asked me this evening after dinner. So unexpected was the question coming from out of nowhere and taking me by surprise, I said, “Let’s go.” And we drove to a Dairy Queen 5 minutes away and shared one small hot fudge sundae-two spoons. In the car. Like a date. Nothing grand as fine dining with champagne but maybe after ten years together, better. It may not sound like much to you but believe this writer, it heals a lot of wounds and can bring a couple closer together.

Spontaneity did it for me. All the worries cast aside over a spontaneous invitation. “How about a hot fudge sundae?”

Try it sometime.

  1. We do! Only for us, it’s a cone from the ice cream counter at our nearby Rite-Aid grocery store. Cherry chocolate chip. Or butter pecan. Or coconut pineapple. All are good.
