Starting Over

Last week, our heroine Emily found her husband murdered, in the water, on a morning in St. Augustine Beach. Another tragedy in her life. Yet survive and thrive is her creed and she, because of Patrick who encouraged her, is strong physically and mentally with TaiKwanDo training has a fierce determination to find the man who did this. She’s at home alone with a guard on the beach side of her home.

excerpt: There was a knock at the back slider doors; Emily wonders who is at her door at this hour.

“I’m coming,” she calls, thinking it must be the guard and when she looks through the slider, she sees a broad shouldered uniformed man waiting impatiently from the look of him. She calls, “Is something wrong?” and without thinking further, Emily unlocks the door. Right away she recognizes him and runs; he was in her home, oh God.

He slid the door wide open , races to catch up with her, grabs her around the waist and drags her back toward the gaping door.Emily knew he wanted to get her out to the beach where he was free to do whatever he intended all this time.  And he was powerful, much stronger than she; a tank compared to a tricycle.

  1. Hi Rachel, thanks for leaving a comment and welcome to wewriwa. Starting Over is, indeed, an exciting story with lots of heat, intense characters and a stalker. You will love it. and it’s on audio now.
    and all formats.

  2. Oh my! What a terrifying scene! You captured her emotions so well, my friend. I’ll be chewing my nails until we find out more (I hope!) next week.

  3. Oh no! What a horrible situation to be in. I hope she can get away from him or someone comes to help her. Such an intriguing excerpt! 🙂

  4. A woman’s biggest fear – a stalker who gains access to her home! Knowing you, Charmaine, I have every confidence that Emily will sock him with something heavy and make her escape. She seems like a survivor!

  5. Hmm. Do you know any decent agents in the business. One wanted me to front with my money. Cancel that! I did so enjoy when she opened the sliders thinking in a movie the audience is yelling, “Don’t open the door.” Thanks, good buddy.

  6. Me too. Ed also liked that one. Are we having fun yet? You bet we are! Very tense and we’re not at the end as yet. Muti- layered book as it turned out and when I reread it, I totally loved it. Thanks for stopping by. next time I’ll serve wine.
