Let me guess. You and Uncle Stuart are going out and I am going to eat…”The kitchen with the staff and won’t that be fun?” I washed up and headed to the kitchen. I sat next to Edgar, happy to be with the staff, my kind of people. Granny Apple looked around and said, “Something is missing Sean.” Suddenly I said Sit, Stay that brought Lord and Lady in. I said, “I’m an experieced waitress so I volunteer to serve.” “OK. Granny said.” I ladled and served, sat and ate and became part of the whole household. After dinner, I decided to ask for advice. About dating. All heads turned my way. “I have a plan and I’m asking you all to listen and tell me what you think. Okay, I’m not really into dating because back home, I had some unpleasant experiences. But I’m starting new here and if a girl does’nt go out after guys keep asking, there might be gossip. And kids can be mean. So here’s my plan. I accept a date to the movies because I don’t have to talk too much to the guy and a movie is a safe place. And after the movies, he takes me for a snack someplace and then it’s time to go home. And maybe he thinks because he spent money on me, now he can, uh, expect something in return but when he drives me home, Edgar opens the door and does his Edgar thing and the guy knows he better leave. So I say thanks and good night. And I’m home. Safe. I took a deep breath and waited. “What exactly is my Edgar thing,” Edgar said. “Oh, you know. You wear a black suit looking serious like you’re in charge of the house.”I believe your plan will work, Miss Charlie. “Dessert time” Sean said. Apple pie. Delicious.
More fun at Reconstructing Charlie. Join me and enjoy this day.
She’s got quite the plan worked out, doesn’t she? 🙂 I bet it’s going to work. At least for a while.
Charmaine Gordon June 29, 2020 at 9:30 am Edit. Jenna, you are so right. Charlie always has a plan.
Well now I want apple pie.

Daryl, you are nothing short of good stories. Thanks a bunch.
I like her relationship with Edgar and the rest of the staff. Keeps her so very down to earth. 🙂
Hugs, my friend. ❤

Teresa, I picture you say the word. We have gone through a lot. A few days ago I fell and now I’m working out to get much better. My doc will work on me getting stronger. More hugs from me to you.
A fun interlude…I think she’s very wise to seek their advice and have them as her allies. Great snippet! Hugs to you, my friend.

Best GF, I read every word just now. Again I think of you and your fine interludes that bring wonders to me.
She has it all planned. Not bad, although I’m not sure about movies being entirely safe.

Charlie has a way of seeking real stories. I’m so proud of the way she thinks; the way her friends listen downstairs and give her good ideas. Aurora, you always get the right ideas.
Cute. I love her plan–esp. Edgar. He would scare the you-know-what out of any young guy. 🙂
Charmaine Gordon says: June 28, 2020 at 12:33 pm. Edit Oh that Edgar. He is in several stories from way back, always into mischief. Diane, I so enjoy your comments.
I bet that would work, only what if she decides she doesn’t want to scare her date away after all? Fun snippet.

Alexis, you write fascinating stories. I listen to every word.
Now I want pie! Sounds like a good plan. What could possibly go wrong . . . ?
Charmaine Gordon: says: June 28,2020 at 2:39 pm Edit.
Nancy, if you want a pie, let’s get one for you or maybe just an ice cream and we can share. Hugs from me to you.
That’s quite a plan she had. Very detailed . . . but I wonder if it’d really work the way she thinks.
Charmaine Gordon says: June 28, 2020 at 7:14 pm Edit. Charlie knows what’s what. She has good friends and they are helping in every way.
I like a girl with a plan.
Charmaine Gordon here. June 28, SOSO at 10″20 pm Edit. Elaine, to me, you always get it write.
